Brewing Coffee in a Drip Machine
Step 1:
Remove the coffee pot and open up the compartment for the ground coffee. In my case, the basket swings out to the side.
Step 2:
Place a filter in the basket and add ground coffee. About one heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for every cup of coffee you want to make.
Step 3:
Put the basket in place, and fill the reservoir with water. Approximately 1 cup of water for each cup of coffee you want brewed. There should be markings on the machine telling you the amount, so you shouldn't have to actually measure out the water beforehand.
Step 4:
Make sure you've put the pot back in the machine, and turn it on. Most drip machines are a simple on/off control, but some may have further settings for strength.
Step 5:
The water will heat up, and flow through the coffee grounds and into the pot. When no more coffee drips out, it's done. The heating plate under the coffee pot will keep your coffee warm, but if you leave it too long it will become bitter.
Step 6:
Remove the coffee pot, pour inito your favorite mug and enjoy.
